These days there are infomercials everywhere for some of the most outrageous things but how can you tell if infomercial kitchen equipment really works. There are things that actually look kind of like something you may want to try. When it comes to picking reliable kitchen equipment, you can't just try anything. If you're curious as to which ones out of those silly and interesting infomercials may be worth your time, here's a small list of things you can give a shot.
The Big City Slider Station/Billy Mays Mini Burger Press: This product has been shown in infomercials. It is simple to use and reliable infomercial kitchen equipment that works. Though smaller than it would appear to be, it handles the task of cooking up to 5 miniature burgers at one time with little room for mess-up. It's considered to be clever, but simple.
The Battery Operated Stadium Hot Dog Griller: It can be fun to experiment with as a new way to cook up some franks. Though technically not kitchen equipment, this little device still works for the chefs in the family. It's not a necessary item, but it is handy if you don't want to be stuck at the grill.
Slap Chop: This is a good piece of equipment for chopping spices or eggs. It can really do the trick when tackling onions, garlic, and eggs. However, it is said you won't want to try this on potatoes or tomatoes. The tomatoes can create a mess because of the juice, and potatoes are too firm to use against the blades.
Bottle Tops for Soda Cans: While not exactly infomercial kitchen equipment, it is very useful indoors and out, but especially outside. If you're ever at a picnic, soccer game, family gathering, or whatever, you should bring one along. You won't have to worry so much about spilling or about bugs getting in your drink. Just be careful about picking your can up by the Bottle top, if it's too full, it may fall off.
Sometimes it can be hard to believe that something in such a cheesy and annoying infomercial can actually be a pretty decent device, but these items have made the cut as some decently effective ones.

Is it legal to use your own home kitchen for your business?
I want to start a baking business, I was wondering if it's legal to use your own home kitchen as your workspace? I've been told that it isn't, and im pretty sure it isn't legal to use your own kitchen for liability issues. Howevr, im just not sure. Does anyone know the Washington state law on using your own kitchen as your workplace? Any answers or any tips on where to find the imformation would be great. I searshed all over google and I just can't find it. Thnak you.
It can be legal to prepare food in a home kitchen, but there are many requirements. Each county in Washington State has a health dept/environmental health that issues permits.
To find the one for your county, go to the link provided. Then choose the county, then forms/applications - environmental health - food permit. (each county web site is a little different, but this should get you there). The key words here are "food permit". Good luck.
