Which is better, chicken in the oven or on the grill? Roasted chicken is a simple and tasteful meal many people have learned over the years. It was one of mom's specialties when the family was together around the table. A newer twist on the recipe involves a chicken, spices and a can of beer.

Beer chicken can be made in the oven or barbecued on the gas or charcoal grill. Beer is a great source of flavor for any chicken recipe, but is especially suited for Roasted Chicken dinners. Beer Chicken in the Oven is ideal for a cold winter Sunday when the temperature is low and snow is blanketing the back yard.

Beer Butt chicken is very easy to make in the oven and is only slightly different than the traditional version mom used to make:

First, take a whole chicken and remove the giblets, clean and pat dry. Take a single can of beer and wash thoroughly. Once it is cleaned and dried, open the beer and empty ½ of it into a glass. This can be tasted, but resist the temptation to drink the remaining beer! If you have to have some, open another can.

Second, wrap the beer in foil to further insulate it from touching the chicken. Even though you have cleaned the can, I prefer an extra layer of protection. You do not know when the can has been. Take a glass or Pyrex dish and line with foil. Sit the can of beer in the middle of the dish. It will act as a stand for your Beer Chicken.

Lastly, place the chicken on top of the beer can so that it slides up inside the bird cavity. The bird will now be sitting upright in the middle of the baking dish. Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees. Pour remaining beer from the glass over top of the bird and season with your favorite spices. Place in oven and bake for 2-3 hours based on the size of the chicken.

When done, the chicken will have a crispy brown skin tone that will get you salivating. Since the bird is standing upright, the beer will flavor the insides to a moist and tender taste and the fatty juices will end up at the bottom of the dish.

Serve with the usual suspects alongside your succulent Beer Chicken from the oven, cooked to perfection. Try different porters or ales to adjust the taste. This succulent dish can also be created in the summer time on a gas or charcoal grill. The smoky flavor will add more to the recipe, and heck if you have the room, make two. The leftovers are to die for!

Vaccume wont suck?

Our vaccume is only a few months old. It is a Dirt Devil upright bagless. The hose has full suction when removed but when I attach it to the vaccume there is no suction on the floor head. The suction part will turn by hand but not by the force of the vaccume and there is no suction there. What is wrong?

Lol! Just had this problem a month ago. Check your belt, even if it doesn't look bad, change it. I had to read the owner's manual to figure this out. Worked like a charm. Good Luck.

EDIT: If the belt is a little stretched out it won't suck.
