Do you know how to spiral curl your hair? It's simple once you realize all you have to do is curl it in a different direction. These types of curls are widely popular. You can tuck your ends in for a formal look or leave them out for an informal look. Younger, hipper stars have brought back this hairstyle again.  Nobody I know doesn't love Jessica Simpson's beautiful curls.

As you know, most curls are created by holding your curlers or curling irons horizontally. Spirals are created when you roll your hair vertically. It does take a bit of getting used to doing curls this way but once you get it down, the rest is a breeze. The curls you create can be loose or tight.  Whatever look you're going for.

Nothing could be easier if you keep in mind to keep your iron or curlers vertical instead how you've always done it before.

Here's a little step by step.  Before you start, you may want to straighten curly hair. Create several sections in your hair to make the curling easier.  Create your spirals by using any of the following tools: regular curling iron, a spiral curling iron, or even regular hair rollers and/or hot rollers. The size of your barrell will determine the size of the curlers.  This is the same as normal curling. If you want your curls to last as long as possible, apply some mousse or gel to dry or slightly wet hair before you starting. You'll want to comb your hair and then blow it completely dry. Make sure you don't damage your hair with your curling iron by starting before it's completely dry.

Split your hair into two main sections, side to side, by parting your hair down the middle. Then separate those two sections into two more sections, top and bottom. Clamp the top sections.

No matter how thick your hair is, always start curling from the bottom to the top, especially if you're a beginner! Once you get a little more seasoned, you can curl the top first then clip that hair out of the way if you like to work from top to bottom instead.

Grab a small section of hair at the end and clamp it with your curling iron, or start the curl further up if you want to leave ends out. Start curling your hair vertically. Remember the iron or curler should be straight up and down. Roll it up as far as possible. If you're using an iron, hold it to the count of ten, depending on your heat setting. Give all the curls a shot of styling hair spray. You can finish your curls with a firm holding spray once you're done. You can leave your curls looking tight, or slightly fluff them loose to separate curls.  Whichever way, you and you're spiral curls are going to look great!

I need to dry an iron out?

Ok I bought an iron but its crap, didn't find that out til I had used it once, but I put ironing water in when I used it. Ive tipped that out but there is still condensation inside from the water. I want to return it but cannot without getting the inside dry, any ideas would be geat!

How about putting the iron on it's hottest setting and keep hitting the steam button, should soon be empty but you won't be able to take it back to the shop until next day after it has cooled down. I have an iron I inherited modern, german origin but no instructions, When I press the steam button half of the iron falls off. I gave in and bought a steam press!
