why does water come out my exhaust after the car has been sitting and restarted.?

There is no loss of water in the radiator. This has been going on for several months . The vehicle runs great.

tsk tsk. Dont you remember the chemistry of burning hydrocarbons. When you burn hydrocarbons you produce water, carbon dioxide. (carbon monoxide as well since the reaction isn't fully complete)

When your turn your car off you still have that exhaust that is rich in water, but when you turn your car off it is still hot, but when your car cools down the water condenses. When you turn the car on it sputters out water. When it is cold, say like winter like it is now in north america, this effect is increased.

This is also the reason why in cold mornings when you start your car the exhaust is white because the water condenses into little droplets.

So don't worrry this is totally normal
