I have a messy clothes closet to deal with can I organize it without spending?

If you have a drawer unit - you can organize it by putting cardboard dividers in it. Cut strips of cardboard the height of the drawer x the length of the drawer and strips the height of the drawer x the depth. Now as you have space you can layout how many dividers you need and then cut halfway through the cardboard strips and intersect them - this is called a finger joint. Other than that if you just have a closet rod, then for the socks and undies I would just use milk crates, or boxes with a opening cut out for access.
