Acne, zits or pimples are skin disorders that are found in most teenagers and also in adults. There are plenty of factors - both genetic and physical - that are responsible for pimples and acne.
However, there are ways of getting rid of acne naturally, at home. The following home remedies will help you to have a clearer skin and boost your confidence and self esteem.
Drink a lot of water every day...
Water is very helpful in clearing your skin. You should drink at least four to six glasses of water a day. This will help to flush out the toxins from your body and hydrate your skin. Avoid drinking soda and other soft drinks. Instead drink fresh fruit juices and eat a lot of green leafy vegetables. This will improve your complexion.
Use of face masks...
There are plenty of face masks that can be prepared in your home. These are inexpensive and natural. One of the best face masks is "gram flour". Take a little gram flour and mix it with a little yogurt. Apply this mixture on your face (avoiding the lip and eye areas) and leave it on for 20 minutes before washing.
This will control the production of excess oil and helps to unplug pores of the face. You can also add lemon juice and turmeric to the mixture. Other face packs can be made by using Fuller's Earth mixed with carrot juice and honey.
Use of Rose Water and Sandalwood...
These two ingredients are famous because of their calming and soothing qualities. Make a paste and apply it all over your face. Leave the pack on till it dries completely. Rinse it off with cold water, after which you can apply a mild and soothing moisturizer.
Rosehip seed oil is another herbal cure that has amazing results in the treatment of acne. It is helpful in the treatment of sun-damaged skin and removal of acne scars and wrinkles. This is because it has anti aging properties. A few drops of the oil should be massaged over the acne areas on your face.
Aloe Vera - the miracle working plant...
This is one natural solution that has been used for many years because of its soothing effect and healing virtues on damaged skin. Cut an Aloe Vera leaf in half (lengthwise) to extract the gel and apply the same over your face. You will get instant relief from itchy and red acne. Moreover acne scars are also lightened by use of Aloe Vera.

Best recipe for home-made dishwasher detergent?
I stumbled upon an article that claimed you can make your own dishwasher detergent using a combination of Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda and 20 Mule Team Borax (1 Tablespoon of each). It's supposed to be better for the environment and costs far less than store-bought detergents. I tried it and quite honestly despite the reviews I don't think it cleans dishes very well. Does anyone have a tried and true recipe?
There are several recipes for homemade dishwasher soap. Why bother? It's much more economical than buying the stuff, even if you're at DollarTree -- plus you know what you're using here, chemically.
To save the future of our environment I use this recipe
For each load:
1 Tablespoon Borax
1 Tablespoon Baking soda
or
2 Tablespoons of the following - 1 cup baking soda combined with 1 cup borax, and 2-3 tablespoons Fruit Fresh
For the rinse:
1 cup white vinegar, either poured into the JetDry vessel or placed into a cup securely placed into the top rack.
What's borax? It's a salt, naturally occurring in some parts of the USA as well as China, and it's used not only as a cleansing agent but also as a water softener and a preservative. Remember Twenty Mule Team Borax? It sponsored quite a few TV Westerns in the 1960s.
