Super Washing
For a few years, I owned a Kitchenaid blender, and got a lot of great use from it. Kitchenaid claims to be the most powerful blender on the market, at .9 horsepower and about 670 watts.
And for a "regular" blender, that is indeed a lot of power. But...beyond the blenders sold in most department and discount stores is an entirely different category of "super blenders," in which two mighty machines battle it out for top honors.
We're talking here about power in a whole different league: blenders that chew up most anything at 2- to 3-horsepower and 1300 to 1500 watts. We're talking here about the venerable Vitamix and its more recent challenger, the Blendtec.
I still remember when a family member came to stay at our place and brought along her Vitamix. The thing would liquify any combination of even fibrous veggies...carrots, celery, leafy greens, cucumbers...and you could throw in fruit with skin, seeds, and all. A smoothie machine par excellence. But it would also grind wheat, then bake bread right in the container. It would go the other heat direction and make ice cream, sorbets, and other desserts. It made hot soups, again, right in the jar (or carafe, as some like to call it).
Yes, I was impressed. The Vitamix was the King of the Hill.
But these days, the Vitamix has competition in the form of the Blendtec (earlier called the K-Tec). Where the Vitamix has 2 hp, the Blendtec has 3 hp. But power isn't everything, and the Vitamix still has certain features that some consider superior to the Blendtec. Much as in the PC versus Mac face-off, each power blender has its own die-hard fans. Some like the tamper the Vitamix has, that lets you push food down into the blades. Others don't. Some like the digital pushbutton controls of the Blendtec. Others don't. Those interested in these competing super blenders need to do their homework and fully compare the two, in order to determine which fits their needs best.

Washing machine overflow?
I just moved into an older home. I have a super capacity washing machine and it fills fine, however, when the maching drains, it seems to over fill the drain pipe and water spills from the drain connection. Any tips on how to correct the problem. I have heard of a "CT Adapter" has anyone else had any luck with this, or have you had a similar situation. Thanks ahead of time for the tips!
sounds like a clogged drain pipe. try snaking it or running some Drano down it. If it has a trap which it should try clearing that too.
if that does not work call a plumber to either clear it or install a bigger drain pipe.
