How do I remove Ignition switch on caddy 1999?
I have taken the plastic surrounds,steering wheel,indicator, wiper stalkswire connectors and allen bolt off. Now left with just steering coloum and alloy housing with ignition switch in, I can slide the colum out of the steering tube with the ignition housing about 30 mm but it will not come off any further do i need to loosen the colum underneath the van and pull the whole lot out???
there should be a release part on the outer casing you probably will need to turn the key to position 2 then put a pick in to push the barrel part in then the barrel should slide out look underneath it may be there hidden ok if 4 any reason you cant change the lock as key broken ect you will need to drill it out just need to find the bit you push in and then turn to position 2 ok hope this helps
