I was thinking of creating my own style & clothes (kind of like a trademark). Will people laugh?

So far I am wearing bold colored nail polish & I am writing stuff on my shirts (I have a whole list of ideas) & I am making my own vintage pins and bags. I wouldn't want to look stupid but I really hate it when poeple all like the same things and dress the same (like with totes & Victoria's Secret)

Duh people will laugh. People laughed at the guy who invented the light bulb. People laughed at Twiggy (model) because she was the first non-curvy model and look at the modeling industry now! Also, just about every style is laughed at by someone or other. Emos laugh at preps, preps laugh at emos. Yes, people will laugh, but undoubtably for ever person who laughs, two others will emulate you for taking a risk. In my personal opinion your ideas sound very good and like a good style to pursue. How do I write an appeal to lift my financial aid suspension due to personal reasons?

While I was attending college for the first year, I put my son in two different day cares. The first because it was close to the school, then changed to one closer to home. He was showing signs of anger, depression, and just not being himself. Later I found him in the closet looking at his cousins private. So, I took him to a counselor and she says she thinks he was sexually abused. Because he was only 4 at the time we cannot get him to say specifically who, what, and where it happened. When I put him in counseling, I just stopped going to school and took him out of daycare. I never finished my year at school and received and incomplete for two classes I was enrolled in, which put me on financial aid suspension. How should I write about my situation, and what documents will I need to support it to get my suspension lifted?

I would write the truth, in a professional manner. Basically, that your son was abused at the daycare he was in and that he was requiring visits to a therapist, and that you were traumatized by the event as well and unable to concentrate on school. You may be required to send in a letter from the therapist from daycare, and/or possibly a statement from the police... I assume you reported that your son was abused so that they could investigate. If not, your son's therapist should have reported it and he should have had an exam at his dr. office or the hospital.

Best recipe for home-made dishwasher detergent?

I stumbled upon an article that claimed you can make your own dishwasher detergent using a combination of Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda and 20 Mule Team Borax (1 Tablespoon of each). It's supposed to be better for the environment and costs far less than store-bought detergents. I tried it and quite honestly despite the reviews I don't think it cleans dishes very well. Does anyone have a tried and true recipe?

There are several recipes for homemade dishwasher soap. Why bother? It's much more economical than buying the stuff, even if you're at DollarTree -- plus you know what you're using here, chemically.

To save the future of our environment I use this recipe

For each load:
1 Tablespoon Borax
1 Tablespoon Baking soda
or
2 Tablespoons of the following - 1 cup baking soda combined with 1 cup borax, and 2-3 tablespoons Fruit Fresh
For the rinse:
1 cup white vinegar, either poured into the JetDry vessel or placed into a cup securely placed into the top rack.

What's borax? It's a salt, naturally occurring in some parts of the USA as well as China, and it's used not only as a cleansing agent but also as a water softener and a preservative. Remember Twenty Mule Team Borax? It sponsored quite a few TV Westerns in the 1960s.

Creating comic book characters is a bit of a touch and go for some artists. Some would often craft dozens of characters, but unfortunately few or even none of these characters would take off, become comic book celebrities or even gain their own cult following. Others, well, they make legends.

Back in 1963, a duo of comic book creators decided to breathe life to a new breed of super heroes and super villains. The duo -- none other than the now renowned geniuses Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.

Lee, Kirby and other Marvel creators have already made strides in the comic book industry by producing such legendary characters like the Fantastic Four, the Amazing Spider Man, the Avengers, and a whole host of colorful personalities.

But the pair decided that wasn't enough. Thus, the X Men were born. Created smack dab in the middle of what others considered the renaissance of comic books, the list of X Men characters back then would forever change comic book history.

The X Men characters gained their powers by being born with what the creators coined, the "X factor". These are imbued in the genetic make up of each character, causing mutations which would forever shape the way how they will live.

Each of the personalities included in the list of X Men characters have their own unique skills and abilities due to their unique genetic make up. But these superhuman powers would also present them with difficulties. Humans became wary of what they would eventually call mutants, even sometimes resorting to outright hostility.

It was a great premise, highly analogous to the problem that pervaded the society during that era - racism.

Since their birth back in 1963, the list of X Men characters has undergone almost constant changes. Some characters would leave permanently, while others would take their place. This constant change contributed to the feeling that the series remained fresh despite its age.

Despite these changes, there are those who would remain as staples in the list of X Men characters. These include super hero characters like Charles Xavier, also known as Professor X, Cyclops, and Beast. Classic super villains who have remained almost unchanged since their creation include Magneto and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Juggernaut, and Blob.

As a testament to their popularity, a number of X Men movies have been produced. With the thriving pool of talented comic book writers and designers, we can be sure that the new and exciting individuals will be included in the uncanny list of X Men characters.

I'm sick of all these tiny, plastic colorful pieces of crap trying to pass themselves off as an ant farm. They should really be called ant cages or something, because you can't actually farm the ants. No one in America is allowed to ship or sale queen ants (they can in Europe tho). Can you believe that? How are you going to farm ants without a queen? The ants just sit in their cages, with no purpose until they die! I don't see what the big freaking deal is! I have heard their arguments for why they don't want them shipped around the country (introduction of a non-native species, etc.), and they do have a point, but ants are not really that hard to get rid of and so their threat should be overlooked and those regulations lifted.

Even if you could buy a queen ant, she would just be wasting her time in such a small enclosed environment. She would produce more ants than the aquarium could tolerate in a few months.

I have always had an interest in ants. They are fascinating creatures. Ever since I can remember I have been making ant farms. I like to just sit there and watch them sometimes, and then setup little obstacles for them to overcome. Occasionally have bug wars!

The ant farms for sale on the market do not even have an open top, or a flat landscape for them to hunt food. You can never really interact with the ants or conduct experiments, because you can't reach them. Everybody is so scared of a lawsuit that they don't want the kids even touching the ants. For crying out loud! They are usually Western Harvester Ants. I've been bitten several times. It does not hurt that bad. I didn't even cry the first time I was bit at 5 years old.

The way I make ant farms is the way they should be made, and I hope to get it manufactured someday, but it might not ever happen, so I ask that one of the many toy ant farm distributors in America come out with just one ant farm that is geared toward the serious observer and not just another toy for kids. It doesn't have to be huge, but it's gotta be bigger. At least 8"Wx12"Lx10"H.

1. Here's how you do it? I like mine a little bigger.

2. You take an 18" long x 8"wide x 12" high fish aquarium to be your outside wall.

3. Then you take a 16"long x 6"wide x 9"high fish aquarium to be your inside wall.

4. Remove all of the cheap plastic parts at the top of the smaller aquarium so you can get it clear for glue.

5. Place the large aquarium right side up (the open side up).

6. Place the smaller one upside down (open side down) into the larger one. Glue the smaller one to the bottom of large aquarium, leaving approx. 1" on each side for dirt. (You can also place a light inside the small aquarium for some cool effects)

7. You may want to glue down four 2" strips of glass or something smooth surfaced around the top of the Large aquarium to make it harder (nearly impossible) for the ants to escape.

8. Get some decent tunneling dirt and fill up your new ant farm. Leave about an inch of room from the top.

9. Go dig up a queen and some worker ants and get started.

10. If you added a light inside the small one. You will need to drill a hole for the plug.

he runs into something every 5 minutes. like just a few minutes ago he ran into the wall and slid into a chair. and before that he jumped up and hit his head on the living room table.
it happens like 30 times a day for over a month now.

For golfers who travel more often by automobile and have an extra set of golf clubs, hybrid golf travel bags are a good choice.

Golfers can pick up a hybrid golf travel bag for as little as $60 with top of the line bags going for around $230.

Soft Golf Travel Bags

Think of this style of travel bags as a soft, padded, glove that covers your day-to-day golf bag and clubs. Usually, these bags come with a rigid bottom and wheels to help golfers carry them from location to location.

If you love to carry a lot of golf gear on your travels, then soft-style cases might be the right choice for you. You can travel with your day-to-day bag and stuff it with your other gear and golf accessories. These travel bags also breaks down easily and take up less storage space than hard case bags.

This style of travel bag encompasses your bag and club. They provide the highest amount of protection but do not have space for the golf "pack rat".

Hard cases are a great choice for the golfer who travels by air to most golf vacation spots. This style provides the most protection and highest security for your golf clubs. Unlike other styles of golf travel bags, airlines will often cover any damage incurred when your clubs are in a hard case travel bag.

Hard cases take up more room than other styles when it comes to storage. They also do not hold all of your golf gear. For the golfer who plans more trips by automobile, hard cases might not make as much sense as hybrids or soft-covers.

Hard case golf travel bags average $130 with top of the line cases costing around $300.

When using screens and panels as room dividers, be sure to make use of both sides: the front and back can be treated in different ways, either decoratively or as a support for shelving, cupboards, or clothes hanging rails.

Today's interior design concepts are inventive and provide solutions to problems of small-space studio living. Design concepts like cherry wood wardrobes with maple veneered MDF (medium-density fibreboard) doors with hinged side screens. "Bones of the Dead" is set in Venice during the Renaissance Period. Luciano is an orphaned street urchin who has been rescued from the streets by a chef, Amato Ferrero. Luciano is to be apprenticed to him. Amato sees something special in Luciano and plans on teaching him more than just culinary skills. Luciano senses a mystery about his background and why Amato took him in. He also wonders about the doge that he works for. Early on in his apprenticeship, Luciano witnesses the doge killing a peasant and then pouring an elixir down his throat. He doesn't understand why he would do that to a corpse, but sets out to find out. Along the way, he learns that the doge is seeking a mysterious book that some believe has the recipe for the elixir of immortality, others believe it reveals the alchemy behind how to turn objects into gold.

The chef Amato knows of the mysteries in this book. He is more than a chef, he is also a guardian. Guardians hide secrets in their recipes. They also create concoctions with their recipes that can affect the outcome of decisions that are made in politics. The food sets the mood for how the guardian feels the outcome of a meeting should be. The chef Amato says, "...the prep of food was a tool to illuminate the mysteries of life." In Luciano's haste to find the answers to secrets, he reveals information to untrustworthy sources, this puts himself and Amato in danger. The answers are revealed to him, but at a great cost.

"Bones of the Dead" is an incredibly written novel. I found myself hooked immediately. The author traveled to Venice to create this story. She has a gift for describing the sights, sounds and smells of Venice exactly how you would imagine at that time. She also draws upon the political intrigue and drama that involved The Church. I really liked that the Chef had a great deal of integrity within himself. Under his guidance Luciano was destined to become a great man with integrity, however, because of his background and human nature, it was a struggle. I cannot imagine anyone not enjoying this novel; however, I highly recommend it to people that enjoy historical intrigues. If you like books like "The Da Vinci Code," you will be thrilled to discover "Bones of the Dead." I look forward to reading other novels by Elle Newmark.
