Bagless vacuum cleaners utilize a chamber or cup that is emptied when full. The types of vacuums are usually less expensive to operate but sacrifice air quality and cleanliness.
The quality of the vacuum cleaner you purchase is of course very important. If you have pets or are frequently vacuuming damp debris a disposable vacuum cleaner might be the best choice. Disposable units cost less but for the most part don't last as long. I have a valuable book that can't be stored upright and the pages are warping. Will a bag or box protect it?
It's very humid where I live, so dehumidifying a room is nearly impossible, plus I suffer from dry skin.
Will a bag, wrapped cloth, or box do any good in preventing the pages from developing that nasty wave, or will this make it worse? I paid as much for this book as you pay for an average PC, but I wasn't prepared to care for it.
The last time I kept a book in a box, sized specifically for the book, its pages warped just the same. Is there no stopping this destruction?
Plastic will just increase the dampness. If it is valuable, you need to take it to a book restorer. They will put it in a book press and minimize the warping. Then they will check the binding for damage and tell you how to conserve it. Pax - C
