Is your closet stuffed to the brim with your stuff? Is there so much clutter in your closet that you can't find things when you need them? You didn't "plan" for your closet to be so messy, but over time it just seemed to happen. If your closet is a total mess, then you should consider installing a closet organizer. Closet organizers come in three basic materials - plastic, wire, and wood. Of the three, wire provides the best combination of durability and affordability. This article presents some basic information about the advantages of wire closet organizers.
The wire material used in closet organizers are often powder-coated with an epoxy covering, which provides extra durability and is more aesthetically pleasing to the eye than bare wire. You may also find some wire systems that are covered with a rubber, plastic, or paint. The color white is the most common in these systems, although there are many other color options available which you can coordinate with the color scheme of your room.
Wire organizer systems are strong and durable, and useful for storing not only your clothes, but heavier items like books, photo albums, and other items. But be aware of any weight limits for the units and make sure you don't overload them. Overloading the shelves could cause damage to your closet, and even cause you personal injury if should the system fail.
Wire closet systems can be purchased in two different ways. The first is to buy individual components separately as needed. You can attach each piece where you need it to go without buying a complete kit. For instance, you may only decide to hang some shelves, or install additional hanging rods.
The second way to buy an integrated organizer kit that has all components included. One advantage of kits is that the parts are generally less expensive in the kit than if purchased separately.
Many wire closet organizers include racks which can be used with sliding drawers that you pull in and out. Some kits allow you to customize your storage by using a track that you attach to the closet wall. At different intervals along the track, you can put in wire baskets or shelves wherever you want them to go. By installing such a system, it's easy to make adjustments as needed without having to take down shelves that are physically attached to the walls. You can add more shelves or baskets when you need them, you can remove them, or you can put them in a different area along the track - it's totally up to you.
Wire organizers can be purchased online, or at your local hardware or home improvement store. Designs and price vary at any given time, so be sure and shop around before you make your purchase. One consideration when buying online is the cost of shipping. That "great deal" you get from that discount internet retailer may not be so terrific when you factor in the shipping fees, which could be substantial depending on the weight.
Wire closet organizer systems provide a great solution for reclaiming your wasted space and getting your closet items efficiently organized. However it is not an "end-all" storage solution if you lack discipline. If you are careless or haphazard about putting your things in the closet, your closet will soon be filled with clutter as before. Once your organizer is installed, you need to be diligent in putting away your clothes and accessories in the places you have set up. If you do this going forward, then a wire closet storage is the perfect solution for you.
